Ahn Chang-Hong's First U.S. Solo Exhibition Opens at American University Museum

The American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center in Washington, D.C., will host the inaugural solo exhibition of renowned Korean contemporary artist Ahn Chang-Hong, commencing on September 5. Entitled "Ahn Chang-Hong: noon-mool," the exhibition will be open until December 6 and will include large-scale paintings, photographic works, and three-dimensional installations. Ahn's artistic approach is deeply intertwined with Korea's sociopolitical narrative while exploring universal themes of grief and compassion. Spanning two floors, the exhibit highlights his latest "Taxidermy" series, where he overlays paint on images of taxidermied animals, resulting in striking pieces that contrast disturbing visuals with bold, monochromatic backgrounds.
