Daveigh Chase, the American actress who played Samara Morgan in the 2002 horror film 'The Ring' and Samantha Darko in 'Donnie Darko', died on Tuesday at age 35. Her boyfriend Roy Hernandez told TMZ that her death was due to complications from meningitis and an infection. Her agent John Ryan added that she had been hospitalized for malnutrition days before her death. Born in Las Vegas in July 1990, Chase began her career as a voice actress, voicing Lilo in Disney's 'Lilo & Stitch' and Sen in Hayao Miyazaki's 'Spirited Away'. She also had a recurring role on HBO's 'Big Love' from 2006 to 2011. Her last film roles were in the 2016 thriller 'American Romance' and horror 'Jack Goes Home'. She had not acted since and had been in the news only for minor offenses.
