Academia MAC Opens Call for Curatorial Lab 'ESTÉTICAS CONTRA — FORENSES'

The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MAC) of the Universidad de Chile, through its Academia MAC program, has announced an open call for the curatorial laboratory 'ESTÉTICAS CONTRA — FORENSES'. This four-week program is designed for postgraduate students and professionals in visual arts and humanities, including artists, designers, architects, writers, filmmakers, and archivists. Participants will examine fossil evidence, traces, and political documents through various scales of human and media nature. The selection committee, composed of curator Cristián Gómez-Moya, associate curator Joselyn Contreras Cerda, and Anilla MAC coordinator Paula Miranda Vera, will choose ten participants. The laboratory will take place at Sala 14 of the Parque Forestal venue from September 24 to October 16, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 11:00 to 13:00. Selected participants must attend eight sessions and two conferences, and present a logbook of their artistic process. Applications require a biographical note, digital records of recent works, and a letter of intent. The deadline for applications is September 6, with results announced on September 10. The program is coordinated by Anilla MAC and features speakers including Aymara Zegers, Miguel Cáceres, Javier Rodríguez, André Menard, Alejandra Araya, Fernando Portal, Francisca Montes, and Paulo Tavares. The project is funded by FONDART Nacional, FONDECYT, and the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Universidad de Chile.
