7Artisans Launches AF 135mm f/1.8 for Sony E and L-Mount at $689
7Artisans has expanded the availability of its AF Max 135mm f/1.8 full-frame portrait prime lens to Sony E-mount and L-Mount cameras, following a May release for Nikon Z mount. Priced at $689, it is the most affordable 135mm f/1.8 option on Sony E-mount, undercutting Sony's own 135mm f/1.8 G Master ($2,248), the Viltrox AF 135mm f/1.8 LAB ($899), and the Samyang/Rokinon alternatives ($699–$799). On L-Mount, it is the only 135mm f/1.8 lens available. The lens features 16 elements in 13 groups (including five HR and six ED elements), a 12-blade aperture, a stepping motor for autofocus, a minimum focus distance of 0.68 meters, and an 82mm filter thread. It weighs 1,014 grams and measures 136mm in length. The E and L-Mount versions include a clicked aperture ring, an AF/MF switch, dual function buttons, and a USB-C port for firmware updates. The lens is weather-sealed and available now for $689.
