5Vie Design District Explores Human Perception at Milan Design Week 2026

The 5Vie Design District will present its program titled 'QoT – Qualia of Things' during Milan Design Week 2026, focusing on the subjective and qualitative aspects of human perception. Co-founders Emanuele Tessarolo and Ernesta Del Cogliano explained the theme emphasizes how objects evoke emotions and create personal connections, contrasting with technological trends like the Internet of Things. The district will feature 10 exhibitions and installations across three main venues: the Cavallerizze hall at the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia Leonardo Da Vinci on Via Olona 4, the historic building at Via Cesare Correnti 14, and the SIAM Società di Incoraggiamento d’Arti e Mestieri on Via Santa Marta 18. Notable projects include 'Risonanze' by Marco Guazzini, curated by Maria Cristina Didero, showcasing innovative materials like Marwoolus® and Alwoolus; 'Cosmic Meadow' by Australian ceramicist Elizabeth Lewis, presented by Angela Da Silva's Swing Design Gallery; and sculptural stoneware vessels by Japanese artist Noe Kuremoto, which reinterpret ancient Jōmon-era pottery to discuss motherhood. Other highlights include Studio mo man tai's portal made from repurposed advertising banners, Sara Ricciardi's immersive 'ALMA WATER' installation, and Richard Yasmine's lighting collection 'Vessels dell’Intangibile' inspired by human senses. Additional activations include the first public opening of David/Nicolas's studio on Via San Maurilio, Casaornella's 'Animale Sociale' theme, and Takt Project's installation in the Chiesa di San Bernardino alle Monache featuring 3D-printed branches. The program aims to highlight human-centered design through contemporary reinterpretations of traditional crafts and sensory engagement.
