31 Artists Donate Works to Auction for Mediterranean Sea Rescue
There’s a charity auction coming up on September 18 at Auktionshaus am Grunewald in Berlin, featuring artwork from 31 talented artists to support SOS Humanity, a group dedicated to rescuing people in the Mediterranean. This event is part of the September auction, and all funds raised will go directly to the organization. Among the featured artists are Christo & Jeanne-Claude, Ferdinand Dölberg, and Sonja Yakovleva, to name a few. The online catalog has been live since August 28, and bidding is currently open. A public preview starts on September 11. Dubbed "Art for Humanity," this initiative aims to help close a 2.1 million euro funding gap for SOS Humanity by 2026, with 700,000 euros still needed. The initiative is supported by SLICE, which launched in 2024.
