Zweigstelle Capitain Brings Joan Jonas and Ryan Sullivan to Naples

The seventh edition of Zweigstelle Capitain, an itinerant exhibition format by Galerie Gisela Capitain of Cologne, opens at Palazzo Degas in Naples from March 22 to May 16, 2025. The project, launched in 2022, supports the gallery's artists and fosters dialogue with local cultural scenes. This edition features Joan Jonas and Ryan Sullivan. Jonas presents her multimedia installation "Volcano Saga," inspired by 13th-century Icelandic sagas, and, invited by the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn, explores the collection of the historic Aquarium of Naples in relation to her works. Sullivan's show marks his first solo project since joining the gallery in 2024, featuring new paintings and drawings created for Palazzo Degas. Previous editions of Zweigstelle Capitain have taken place in Rome and Naples, showcasing artists such as Ximena Garrido-Lecca, Wade Guyton, Tobias Pils, Seth Price, Christopher Williams, Zoe Leonard, Monika Sosnowska, Stephen Prina, Isabella Ducrot, Jacqueline Humphries, Liza Lacroix, Jadé Fadojutimi, Kristi Cavataro, Barbara Bloom, and Joe Bradley.
