Zurich Design Weeks Returns with Fourth Edition and New Biennial Collaboration

festival-fair · 2026-04-26

Zurich will host the fourth edition of Zurich Design Weeks from September 4 to 14, 2025, coinciding for the first time with the fifth Design Biennale Zurich (September 5–14). The unifying theme is "Team Up," celebrating design as a collective practice. Gabriela Chicherio, director of Zurich Design Weeks, stated that the motto encourages collaboration and exchange in an increasingly complex world. The visual identity for 2025, created by ALP Atelier Landolt Pfister, features a large cube composed of smaller cubes, symbolizing the union of multiple perspectives. During the festival, the city will be transformed with posters, installations, flyers, and neon green sustainable sculptures guiding visitors through ateliers, showrooms, public spaces, museums, and landmarks. The program includes exhibitions, talks, workshops, themed walks, and open studios. The Design Biennale Zurich will take place at the Antico Giardino Botanico dell'Università di Zurigo, featuring installations and projects inspired by the theme "Side by Side." Eleven selected works will explore the relationship between humans, technology, and society across fashion, product design, game design, visual communication, and participatory design. The biennial will offer guided tours, children's workshops, performances, and free activities.
