Zurich Art Weekend 2021: 75+ Events Across the City's Art Scene

Zurich Art Weekend 2021 brought together over 75 events across the city's institutions, galleries, and off-spaces from September 2021. A new VIP program was launched, offering private visits to collections like Ringier and Swiss Re, and artists' studios including Marc Bauer, Raphael Hefti, and Milva Stutz. Key institutional partners included MASILugano, which joined after Nicolas Party's solo show. At Kunsthaus Zürich, an extension by David Chipperfield was previewed, and Walter De Maria's '2000 Sculptures' (1992) was on view. Kunsthalle Zürich presented the first European survey of ART CLUB2000, 'Selected Works 1992-1999'. Migros Museum showed Korakrit Arunanondchai's first Swiss institutional solo exhibition alongside Laura Lima's 'Playful Geometry'. Galleries included Larkin Erdmann with a Man Ray postwar show, Hauser & Wirth with Simone Leigh (representing the US at the 2022 Venice Biennale), Glenn Ligon, and Hans Arp. Peter Kilchmann featured Andriu Deplazes. Off-spaces like Last Tango presented 'CAMP FIRES. The Body as a Queer Stage' with video installations, and Sgomento Zurigo showed Rosa Aiello and Cassidy Toner. We Are AIA | Awareness In Art focused on global interconnectivity and human rights, including Alicia Framis's performance 'IS MY BODY PUBLIC?'.
