Zurbarán's First Major UK Retrospective Opens at National Gallery
The National Gallery in London presents the first major monographic exhibition in the United Kingdom dedicated to Francisco de Zurbarán (1598-1664), organized in collaboration with the Musée du Louvre and the Art Institute of Chicago. The show features around fifty works spanning seven sections, including paintings from the artist's time in Seville and Madrid, still lifes, and devotional pieces. Highlights include two paintings from the Hercules series created for the Buen Retiro palace. The exhibition runs until August 23.
