ZOMUZI transforms auto-body shop into Gantri's first showroom in San Francisco
Gantri, a lighting manufacturer specializing in 3D-printed designs using plant-based polymers, has opened its first brick-and-mortar showroom, called The Shop, in San Francisco. The design practice ZOMUZI, founded by Mzwakhe “Muzi” Ndlovu, converted a former auto-body shop into the 1,600-square-foot space, drenching it in Gantri's signature green. The green garage door from the street provides the first visual cue. ZOMUZI pays homage to the South of Market district's design and social history, particularly its early adoption of art deco styles. The facade preserves the pseudo-art deco exterior from 1937.
