Zoe Leonard Leaves Hauser & Wirth for Maxwell Graham; Carol Rama Debuts at Gallery
Zoe Leonard has left Hauser & Wirth after over a decade to join Maxwell Graham, a smaller New York gallery known for conceptual art. Leonard will continue to be represented by her long-standing galleries Gisela Capitain in Cologne and Raffaella Cortese in Milan. Her work will appear at the Venice Biennale next week as part of the collective fierce pussy. Hauser & Wirth announced its first Carol Rama exhibition in New York, "I See You You See Me," curated by Carlo Knoell, spanning six decades of her career. Rama's nonconformist art was once censored but now attracts new generations. The show includes works from 1943 to the 1990s. Leonard is the second artist to leave Hauser & Wirth in the past year, following George Condo's departure in November.
