Zoe Grey Wins 2024 Hadley's Art Prize for Tasmanian Landscape

Zoe Grey, an artist hailing from Tasmania, won the 2024 Hadley's Art Prize for her piece 'The Shape of Rock,' which beautifully depicts the landscape of her hometown, Marrawah. This esteemed prize, established in 2017 by Hadley's Orient Hotel to boost cultural tourism and support contemporary landscape artists, comes with a hefty AU$100,000 reward. Grey, who was previously shortlisted twice, triumphed over 35 finalists, chosen by a panel featuring Tina Baum, Jane Devery, and Dr. Neil Haddon. The judges praised her artwork for its striking composition and rich colors. The AU$10,000 Hadley’s Residency Prize went to Laura Patterson, while Honourable Mentions were given to Zaachariaha Fielding, Naomi Hobson, Rosie Hastie, and Iluwanti Ken. The Finalists Exhibition will take place at Hadley's Orient Hotel in Hobart from August 3 to 25.
