Zhong Yi Optics has introduced the Pittura 30mm f/2.4, a manual focus prime lens for Hasselblad XCD and Fujifilm GFX medium format cameras. The lens offers an unusually fast f/2.4 aperture for a wide-angle medium format lens, providing a full-frame equivalent of 24mm with an 84.5-degree angle of view. It is designed for low-light shooting, allowing faster shutter speeds and lower ISO settings to preserve dynamic range and micro-contrast. The lens features a 0.2-meter minimum focus distance for dramatic subject isolation, and its construction comprises 13 elements in 12 groups with an 11-bladed diaphragm. Available in Fujifilm GFX and Hasselblad XCD mounts, it measures 81mm by 80mm (GFX) or 73mm by 84mm (XCD) and weighs 550 grams. Priced at $499, it is available directly from the manufacturer. The lens is manual focus only and sample images show some distortion, but its combination of speed, size, and price is compelling for medium format photographers.
