ZERO Hyperlocal: itinerant public exhibition in Milan's NoLo district

ZERO Hyperlocal, a public art exhibition organized by the magazine and platform ZERO in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan, transforms the city's neighborhoods into open-air galleries. The project aims to install over 1,000 posters featuring portraits and stories of local residents across NoLo, Navigli, and Porta Venezia districts, starting from late April through June 2021. The first phase takes place in NoLo from April 27 to May 16, 2021, with posters displayed on walls along via Giacosa near Parco Trotter. Among the 40 interviewed personalities are Joseph Grima and Valentina Ciuffi (designers behind Alcova and Not for Sale), rapper Bassi Maestro, Francesco Cavalli (who coined the name NoLo), Alessandro Onori (founder of LGBT party La Boum), and TuttxCollective (intersectional feminist collective). The exhibition, produced with Funclab Collective and Art City Lab, serves as a showcase for young creatives including photographers, illustrators, designers, artists, writers, barmen, booksellers, musicians, artisans, and producers. ZERO describes Hyperlocal as 'an illustrated novel of the city' written by the faces of people who animate the streets daily, emphasizing that neighborhoods have become vital perimeters from which to explore the world.
