Zero-Energy Acoustic Stage by AMDL CIRCLE for Stresa Festival 2021

architecture-design · 2026-04-27

AMDL CIRCLE and Michele De Lucchi have designed the Palco Acustico for the Stresa Festival 2021, a zero-impact, energy-free acoustic stage. The larch wood structure functions like a shell, using its walls as a resonance chamber without electronics. It is portable and can be set up in remote locations around Lake Maggiore, such as lakeshores and forest slopes. The design team included a university research group led by Professor Marco Imperadori, who optimized the acoustics using engineering software. The wood was naturally darkened to blend into the landscape. Rechargeable lights create a soft, campfire-like atmosphere. The stage aims to bring people closer to nature and enhance environmental awareness.
