Zeitz MOCAA Expands Global Council with Two New Members, Appoints Michèle Sandoz as Senior Strategic Advisor

The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) has welcomed Lidija Khachatourian and Suzanne McFayden Smith to its Global Council, increasing its membership to 27. Khachatourian, who established the AKKA Project and Art and About Africa, was the curator for Mozambique’s National Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale. Meanwhile, McFayden Smith is a collector and philanthropist involved with the boards of the Blanton Museum of Art and the Studio Museum in Harlem. Additionally, Michèle Sandoz, a founding member and former Art Basel representative, has been appointed as Senior Strategic Advisor: Global Patronage. The Global Council, chaired by Acha Leke, features artists such as Julie Mehretu, Wangechi Mutu, and Yinka Shonibare. The museum is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2027.
