Zedz unveils Mondrian-inspired mural in Milan's Corvetto district
Dutch artist Zedz has created a mural in Piazza Angilberto II, Milan's Corvetto neighborhood, inspired by Piet Mondrian. The work is part of a new public art initiative by Mudec (Museo delle Culture), directed by Marina Pugliese, in collaboration with the Consulate of the Netherlands in Milan, 24ORE Cultura, and Unipol. The project aims to revitalize the southern periphery, which is evolving into a creative hub with new spaces like Viafarini near Fondazione Prada, Fondazione Ica, Dopo?, Zero, and Bonvini. On May 9, 2022, Zedz will participate in a public talk to launch Mudec's annual mural program, supported by the Municipality of Milan. The mural completes the redevelopment of Piazza Angilberto II, which was transformed from a simple intersection into a pedestrian area with bike lanes, green spaces, and urban furniture. Zedz's neo-muralism blends writing, architecture, graphic design, animation, and wall painting.
