Zdenka Badovinac and Clare Lilley Appointed to Lead Zagreb Museum of Contemporary Art and Yorkshire Sculpture Park
Zdenka Badovinac, who spent 27 years at Ljubljana's Modern Galerija, was let go from her role in December 2020 and is now leading the Zagreb Museum of Contemporary Art. She played a key role in evolving Modern Galerija into an innovative space, receiving praise from Okwui Enwezor. Notable exhibitions she curated include Body and the East in 1998 and the 2000+ Arteast Collection in 2003. Badovinac also represented Slovenia at the Venice Biennale from 1993 to 1997 and again in 2005, in addition to her work with the Bienal de São Paulo. In 2020, she received the Igor Zabel prize. Meanwhile, Clare Lilley has stepped in as the new director of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, taking over from Sir Peter Murray CBE after 45 years.
