Zawyeh Gallery Opens 'Posters for Gaza' with 26 Palestinian and Arab Artists
On January 26, 2024, Zawyeh Gallery unveiled the group exhibition 'Posters for Gaza,' which features the work of 26 artists from Palestine and the Arab world. The exhibition addresses the themes of ethnic cleansing and atrocities occurring in Gaza, calling for a ceasefire and the acknowledgment of Palestinian rights. Among the contributors, four artists hail from Gaza. The posters, all of the same size and designed with simplicity, incorporate diverse styles and materials, including acrylics, inks, charcoal, collage, mixed media, and digital methods. This exhibition draws inspiration from the political poster tradition of the 1970s and 1980s associated with the Palestinian Liberation Organization. Notable artists include Asad Azi, Aude Abou Nasr, and Bashar Alhroub. The event will continue until April 21, 2024, in collaboration with Reel Palestine 2024.
