Zandomeneghi and Degas in Dialogue at Palazzo Roverella, Rovigo

The exhibition "Zandomeneghi e Degas. Impressionismo tra Firenze e Parigi," curated by Francesca Dini, is currently on display at Palazzo Roverella in Rovigo. This showcase delves into the bond between Federico Zandomeneghi (1841–1917) and Edgar Degas (1834–1917), presenting approximately fifteen artworks from both artists. They were part of the Macchiaioli movement in Florence—Degas joining in 1858 and Zandomeneghi in 1862—before meeting in Paris. Notable pieces include Degas's "Classe de ballet" (1888) and Zandomeneghi's "Visita in camerino," alongside Degas's pastel for "La famiglia Bellelli," making its Italian debut. The exhibition also highlights Diego Martelli and features Degas's "L'assenzio" with Zandomeneghi's "Al Caffè Nouvelle Athènes" (1885). Additionally, "Impressioni di un caffè," featuring Vasco Mirandola and Emanuele Pasqualini, will take place at Teatro Ristori in Verona on May 11.
