Zaha Hadid's Immersive Ice-Storm at MAK Vienna
The MAK Museum in Vienna presents a major exhibition of Zaha Hadid's work, featuring the interactive sculpture 'Ice-Storm' that occupies two-thirds of the central hall. Visitors are invited to touch and climb the synthetic structure, experiencing Hadid's abstract spatial concepts firsthand. The exhibition spans three rooms, showcasing her evolution from deconstructivist paintings—which she describes as 'projections with multiple perspectives'—to realized architectural projects including the Vitra Fire Station (1993), BMW Leipzig factory, Innsbruck ski jump, and the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati. Hadid herself designed the exhibition's scenography, emphasizing a non-Euclidean geometry of movement and flow. The show runs from May 14 to August 17, 2003.
