Zaha Hadid Foundation opens museum and research centre in London

institutional · 2026-04-27

The Zaha Hadid Foundation (ZHF) has officially launched its activities with the appointment of director Paul Greenhalgh, Head of Research and Learning Jane Pavitt, and Head of Collections Leonora Baird-Smith. The foundation, established in 2013 by the late architect Zaha Hadid, had slowed operations after her death. Now, it plans to open a gallery, museum, learning centre, research centre, and think tank dedicated to Hadid's legacy in two buildings in central London. The foundation is also developing a collection management system for over 10,000 works including projects, paintings, models, furniture, prints, jewellery, and fashion. It will support three scholarships for students at the London School of Architecture. Additionally, the online exhibition "Zaha Hadid Architects: Vertical Urbanism" remains accessible until April 3, hosted by the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) and the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, featuring technical drawings, diagrams, computer-generated models, architectural models, video projections, and virtual reality experiences.
