Zaha Hadid Architects transforms Karlsruhe Castle into giant screen
The 2017 Schlosslichtspiele Festival in Karlsruhe, Germany, turns the 170-meter baroque facade of Karlsruhe Castle into the country's largest screen. Among the invited participants are Zaha Hadid Architects, presenting 'Behaviour Morphe', a collaboration between the studio led by Patrik Schumacher, digital artists and computer scientists Andy Lomas and Mubbasir Kapadia, and musician Max Cooper. The work uses real-time data to define dynamic virtual spaces, explored with interactive growth systems that emulate natural evolutionary processes. Other architects featured include Hani Rashid and Lise Anne Couture of Asymptote, and Greg Lynn, winner of the 2008 Golden Lion at the Venice Architecture Biennale. The festival runs throughout August until September 10, 2017.
