Yves Klein and Arman: Le Vide et Le Plein at Collezione Olgiati, Lugano

In Lugano, the Collezione Giancarlo e Danna Olgiati is hosting "Yves Klein e Arman. Le Vide et Le Plein," a joint exhibition that delves into the interrelated artistic philosophies of two pioneers of Nouveau Réalisme. Curated by Bruno Corà, this showcase will be available until December 2025 and includes more than sixty pieces from the 1950s and 1960s, with architectural design by Mario Botta. The exhibition begins with Klein's monochrome cycles, featuring two untitled blue works (1955–1959) alongside pieces in yellow, pink, white, and gold leaf on glass. In contrast, Arman’s installations, such as his Cachet, Accumulations, and Poubelles series, present a commentary on consumerism through object accumulation. Corà emphasizes Klein's fusion of Eastern and Western ideologies with the notion of void, while Arman critiques material culture. Adjacent to the LAC cultural center, the permanent collection showcases 120 years of Italian art, featuring artists like Harold Ancart, Giovanni Anselmo, and Anselm Kiefer, among others.
