Yurta-Relazioni Culturali Opens in Siena, Bridging Tuscany and China
A new cultural hub, Yurta-Relazioni Culturali, has launched in a renovated warehouse in an industrial zone near Siena, Italy, aiming to foster artistic exchange between Tuscany and China. Founded in March 2017, the space kicked off its activities with a group exhibition titled 'Start,' which ran until August 27, 2017. The show featured works by Paolo Schiavocampo (b. 1924), with an outdoor sculpture, and Elisa Giannetti (b. 2014), the daughter of project initiator and painter Wang Yu and sculptor Emanuele Giannetti, who contributed colorful wall drawings. Other artists included Serse, Gianni Lillo, and Liu Shangying. The founders describe the space as neither a commercial gallery nor a strictly non-profit venue, aiming to attract the many Chinese artists, collectors, and enthusiasts passing through the region. The next exhibition is planned for January, continuing the focus on artists with connections to both Tuscany and China.
