Yuko Mohri Wins 2015 Nissan Art Award

Yuko Mohri is the proud recipient of the second Nissan Art Award, which comes with a cash prize of three million yen, roughly £15,000, to support her journey as an artist from Japan. She’ll also have a two-month residency in London in the spring of 2016, thanks to a partnership with Camden Arts Centre. The audience award went to Tsuyoshi Hisakado. Along with Mohri and Hisakado, five other finalists—Sayaka Akiyama, Takashi Ishida, Takahiro Iwasaki, Futoshi Miyagi, and Tomoko Yoneda—are displaying their artwork at BankART Studio NYK in Yokohama until December 24. Mohri, based in Tokyo, has participated in major exhibitions like the Yokohama Triennale and Sapporo International Art Festival in 2014, and has recently shown her work in Hong Kong and Tokyo.
