Yuko Hasegawa to curate 7th Moscow Biennale

Yuko Hasegawa, the chief curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, has been appointed as the curator for the 7th Moscow Biennale, which will take place from 15 September to 28 October 2017. The event is set to occur at the Manezh exhibition hall near the Kremlin, along with various other locations throughout Moscow. Entitled Transcendental Forest, this biennial delves into the symbolic realm between the forest—indicative of individuals seeking roots and fresh experiences—and the cloud, which represents the Internet as a space for communication and identity exploration. Hasegawa, originally from Japan, has previously held the position of chief curator at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa (1999–2006) and has organized significant international exhibitions, including the 7th International Istanbul Biennial (2001) and the 11th Sharjah Biennale (2013).
