YouNique Contemporary Art Fair Returns to Lugano for Seventh Edition in 2026
The YouNique Boutique Fair of Arts will hold its seventh edition from March 27 to 29, 2026, at Villa Ciani in Lugano, Switzerland. Organized by Target Management SA with support from the City of Lugano and Lugano Region, this compact fair focuses on contemporary art through curated quality and direct engagement between artists and the public. It has become a significant cultural event in Italian-speaking Switzerland, attracting growing attendance and recognition. The 2026 edition features approximately seventy artists and six galleries, presenting works across painting, sculpture, photography, and material experimentation. Notable participants include Honduran painter Ronal Bejarano, who will conduct daily painting performances; Italian sculptor Andrea Roggi, displaying bronze and steel installations like 'Radicato'; and Uruguayan-Swiss artist Dámaso Arriero García. Swiss artists such as Irena Dragova, Claudia Von Boch, Francesca Petrarca, and Tatiana Shitikova are featured, alongside Italian contributors including Filippo Rossi, Daniele Mazzoleni, and photographer Fabrizio Bergamo. Participating galleries are GALP – Galleria Arte Lavoro Progetto, Area/B Gallery, Art X on Glass, Madeinartgallery, Gate Gallery, and Tosee Art Gallery. Madeinartgallery highlights contemporary Chinese art with works by Zhang Hong Mei, Ma Liuming, Xu De Qi, and Chen Wenling. The fair extends beyond Villa Ciani with outdoor installations like Marco Piva's 'City of Light', Davide Dall'Osso's 'Cavallo a vento', and Silvia Di Pasquale's 'Vibrazioni Olimpiche'. A program of talks addresses collecting, art system transformations, and connections between creativity, architecture, and the market, including a presentation by MUSEC researcher Massimiliano Vitali on Chinese contemporary art. A new charitable initiative, 'Pasto sospeso', in partnership with Rotary Ticino, will support meal distribution to Centro Bethlehem and Casa Martini.
