Young Woodcut Artists Show at Il Triangolo Gallery in Cremona
Il Triangolo Gallery in Cremona, directed by Raffaella Colace, presents 'Di testa e di filo. Giovani xilografi per un linguaggio anti-contemporaneo', a group exhibition curated by Edoardo Fontana focusing on young woodcut artists. The show features works by artists who studied engraving at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Macerata and participated in woodcut workshops in Anticoli Corrado. The exhibition includes triptychs that highlight the connection between woodcut art and books. Artists include Aurora Guazzaroni, inspired by Victor Hugo's 'Quatrevingt-treize' and François Villon's 'La ballade des Pendus'; Giulia Aloisi, referencing Edgar Allan Poe's 'The Masque of the Red Death'; Jacopo Pannocchia, creating demonic visions from his own poetry; and others like Valentina Formisano, Leonardo Fabretti, Nicolò Fazzini, Marianna Guerra, Lisa Maria Ciccalé, Diana Blu, Sabrina Spreafico, Allegra Donati, Marta Alvear Calderon, Luna-Hoei Cini, Iacob François Gabriel, and Alessandro Cavallone. The exhibition previously traveled to Rome, Macerata, Anticoli Corrado, Formello, and Pavona, and will later move to Castel Rozzone (Bergamo) and Montelupone (Macerata). The show marks a resurgence of graphic arts in Italian exhibitions, starting with young contemporary artists.
