Young Signorino performs at Fabio Viale's David sculpture unveiling in Turin

other · 2026-05-04

On Saturday, November 3, 2018, during the Artissima and Club To Club art weeks in Turin, Fabio Viale unveiled a new sculpture at Galleria Gagliardi e Domke: a marble bust of Michelangelo's David covered in the tattoos of controversial trap artist Young Signorino. The trapper, born Paolo Caputo in 1999, performed live at the opening, drawing a mixed crowd of art enthusiasts and young fans. Viale, from Cuneo, is known for his provocative marble works that merge classical forms with contemporary pop culture, such as tattooed Greek statues and marble tires. The work is part of his Souvenirs series. Young Signorino, who gained fame through social media and his viral track "Mmh ha ha ha," performed tracks from his debut EP—announced days earlier on Instagram—including "Gelaro," "Total black," "Guido e Drillo," "Nebulosa," and "Polo skrt." His lyrics often address themes of drugs and Satanism, sparking controversy. The event was covered by Bianca Felicori for Artribune.
