Yoshitomo Nara's Taiwan Touring Exhibition Stops at Meta Space in Jinguashi

Yoshitomo Nara's exhibition "Traveling with Hazy Humid Day" was presented at Meta Space in Taipei, marking the fourth venue in a decade-long tour across Taiwan that began in 2023. The show was held in Jinguashi, a historic mining area within New Taipei City, utilizing a repurposed Taiwan Power Company building by the sea. Visitors experienced Nara's paintings, drawings, and ceramics across four floors, with Pacific Ocean views through multiple windows enhancing the display. Travel has consistently influenced Nara's artistic practice, and Taiwan's cultural and geographical connections to Japan make it a recurring destination for his work. The exhibition's coastal setting resonated with the artist's longstanding engagement with maritime themes. This touring initiative started at Kaohsiung's Newei Arts Center and will continue to other locations in Taiwan over the next ten years.
