Yongwoo Lee and Hans Ulrich Obrist appointed directors of inaugural Shanghai Project
Yongwoo Lee, head of the Shanghai Himalayas Museum, and Hans Ulrich Obrist, co-director of the Serpentine Galleries in London, will oversee the first Shanghai Project. Running from 5 September to 13 November 2016, this 'ideas platform' will take place mainly at the Shanghai Himalayas Center, with events at various locations throughout the city. The initiative features exhibitions, public art displays, commissioned architectural designs, community programs, and an open call. Named 2116, the project’s theme envisions the twenty-second century, exploring potential pathways toward a sustainable future.
