Yoko Ono's DREAM TOGETHER banners on Met Museum facade

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Two banners, "DREAM" and "TOGETHER," have been placed on the facade of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York by Yoko Ono. This installation, titled DREAM TOGETHER, conveys a message of hope in anticipation of the museum's reopening on August 29, 2020. Ono expressed that collective dreaming fosters a new reality and highlights the importance of unity in facing crises. Max Hollein, the museum's director, characterized Ono's work as a vital call for unity and optimism, encouraging New Yorkers to acknowledge challenges while sparking hope. DREAM TOGETHER is part of the Met's facade exhibition project, which also features Wangechi Mutu's installation, The NewOnes, will free Us (2019).
