Yoko Ono and video art in small Sicilian town
In Capo d'Orlando, located in the Messina province, two contemporary art exhibitions are currently being held, both curated by Davide di Maggio from Milan's Fondazione Mudima. The first, called "This moment could have different flavor," features video art from eight global artists, including Maja Bajevic and Yoko Ono, and will be available in public spaces until August 23. The second exhibition, "Heal," is a solo display of Yoko Ono at LOC Laboratorio Orlando Contemporaneo, running until September 14, 2022. It showcases works from the Fondazione Mudima archives, including the interactive piece "We're all Water" and original German Wehrmacht helmets with puzzle pieces. The video art aims to reshape how we view space and hopes to kickstart an annual video art festival in the region.
