Yoan Sorin and Flora Moscovici's Collaborative Exhibition at Villa D.

Running until July 25, Villa D in Saint-Denis showcases 'Leur mémoire a des rumeurs', an exhibition curated by Frédéric Emprou featuring the works of Yoan Sorin and Flora Moscovici. This display includes paintings, sculptures, and furniture, delving into the ways that locations retain memories and influence perceptions. During the Nuit Blanche in 2026, which focused on the theme of 'Love', Sorin presented 'Declaring His Flame' at Villa D, turning the exhibition into an interactive experience. The performance commenced with an awkward figure distributing cards emblazoned with the sole of his shoe, symbolizing delicate gestures. Set to a slowed rendition of Haddaway's 'What Is Love', the piece transitioned from themes of romance to political commentary, as Sorin used oversized matchsticks to write 'WE ARE THE FIRE', broadening the message to encompass collective struggle and unity.
