Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirror Rooms to Debut in Boston and New York

Yayoi Kusama, who was born in Matsumoto in 1929, will be highlighted in two significant exhibitions commencing on September 24, 2019, at the ICA Boston. The first exhibition, titled 'LOVE IS CALLING,' showcases her 2013 Infinity Mirror Room, which the museum has recently acquired, featuring inflatable sculptures adorned with polka dots within a mirrored space. The second exhibition, 'Beyond Infinity: Contemporary Art After Kusama,' will be on display until February 7, 2021, featuring 15 pieces created from the 1950s to the present, including sculptures, paintings, photographs, and drawings. This exhibition explores her influence on themes of repetition and self, displaying her work alongside artists such as Louise Bourgeois and Eva Hesse. Additionally, David Zwirner Gallery in New York will present a new Infinity Mirror Room from November 9 to December 14, 2019, at its 20th Street venue, likely attracting crowds similar to those at Kusama's 2017 Hirshhorn Museum exhibition.
