Yasmil Raymond Appointed Rector of Städelschule and Director of Portikus
Yasmil Raymond has been appointed the new rector of Städelschule in Frankfurt, taking over from Philippe Pirotte, who has led the school since 2014. Pirotte will continue to contribute by teaching art history and curatorial studies. In addition to her rector role, Raymond will also direct Portikus, the associated gallery. She previously worked as an associate curator at The Museum of Modern Art in New York, where she organized significant projects for the museum's reopening last year. Raymond's five-year term began in 2020, as she joins a faculty that includes well-known faculty members Johan Bettum and Daniel Birnbaum.
