Yale's 2026 MFA Photographers Show at Yancey Richardson

Nine graduates from Yale University's MFA in Photography program are exhibiting together at Yancey Richardson gallery in New York City. The exhibition, titled 'Once More, With Feeling,' runs from August 12 to 28, with a public panel featuring all nine artists on August 13 at 3 p.m. Co-curator Archie Caride, who also moderates the panel, discussed the show's conception and the artists' approaches. The title, chosen by the class, reflects a collective acknowledgment of a 'last hurrah' and the emotions accompanying the culmination of their two-year program. Caride noted that the exhibition honors the collective journey of the cohort. Many of the artists push beyond traditional photography, incorporating sculpture, installation, sound, moving image, and handmade apparatuses, emphasizing the physicality of the photographic image. Caride highlighted that in an era of digital ubiquity, these artists confront the medium's paradoxical importance and unimportance. He expressed excitement about following their careers and hopes audiences recognize the group's sincerity. The exhibition is a victory lap for the graduates, marking the end of their shared time and process.
