Yael Bartana's 'Tashlikh (Cast Off)' Exhibition at Fondazione Modena Arti Visive
At Palazzo Santa Margherita in Modena, the Fondazione Modena Arti Visive showcases 'Tashlikh (Cast Off)', a solo exhibition by Israeli artist Yael Bartana, curated by Chiara Dall'Olio. This exhibition includes five video installations and a series of photographs that explore themes of politics and identity. The main piece, 'Tashlikh (Cast Off)' (2017), features clothing and toys set against a starry backdrop, representing the burdens faced by refugees. Additional works on display are 'True Finn' (2014), 'The Recorder Player from Sheikh Jarrah' (2010), 'Summer Camp/Avodah' (2007), and 'A Declaration' (2006). The exhibit wraps up with 'The Missing Negatives of the Sonnenfeld Collection', where Bartana recreates lost images from 1933-1948 with modern models.
