Xutian Village Community Center by line+ studio Transforms Abandoned School

Line+ studio has completed the Xutian Village Community Center, a 3,358-square-meter project in Boluo County, China, transforming an abandoned primary school into a public hub. Located at the southern foothills of Mount Luofu in a 300-year-old Hakka village, the center is designated as a pilot under a provincial rural development program. The project aims to activate local vitality within the Nan Kunshan–Luofu Mountain development corridor. Lead architect Fanhao Meng oversaw the design team including Dong Yuan, Zhengnan Xue, Fanlin Gou, Chengbin Shou, and Yipin Wang. Sustainability consultants Hang Li and Te Xia contributed, with landscape design by AURA, interior design by Yang Jun Design, and local design by Huizhou Architectural Design Institute Co., Ltd. The general contractor was CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. The client is the Boluo County Government and Luofu Mountain Cultural Tourism Investment Group. The project was completed in 2025.
