Xtra Halts Muse 2 Pro Sales After FCC Crackdown on DJI Clones

Xtra has taken the Muse 2 Pro off its site, ceased preorders, and initiated customer refunds just days after the FCC targeted the company along with others in the industry. Both the Muse 2 and Muse 2 Pro are essentially replicas of DJI's Osmo Pocket 4 and Osmo Pocket 4P, featuring slight modifications. Earlier this month, the FCC imposed fines and restrictions on Xtra for not clarifying the source of its technology, which is suspected to involve prohibited DJI components. Although the new bans will have a 30-day public comment period before implementation, Xtra is acting swiftly. Photographer Francis Alvarez shared that he received an email indicating the Early Bird program for the Muse 2 Pro is on hold due to an "unable to confirm a reliable launch timeline." While Xtra hints at a potential restart of the program in the US, it is currently refunding deposits. The company has ceased communication with PetaPixel and has not addressed the FCC matters. The future of Xtra and similar firms remains uncertain, as the FCC is unlikely to revoke the bans on the implicated DJI products.
