exhibition · 2026-04-23

The exhibition Xilograffiti, curated by Baixo Ribeiro, is on view at Sesc Consolação in São Paulo until July 31, 2022. It explores the cultural connections between woodcut and graffiti, two artistic languages that have evolved into significant cultural symbols. The show is organized into six thematic sections: cordel raiz, cordel contemporâneo, xilo urbana, lambegrafia, tipograffiti, and graffiti xilográfico. It features works by over 150 artists and collectives, including J. Borges, Lira Nordestina, Samuel Casal, Atelier Piratininga, Turenko, Paulestinos, Oficina Tipográfica, Romildo Rocha, Derlon, Xicra convida soupixo, Andréa Sobreiro and Carol Piene, the 23rd edition of Projeto Armazém – Mulher Artista Resiste, and Lau Guimarães. The exhibition emphasizes collaborative creation and network-based practices, with many artists working collectively. It includes interactive components where visitors can use stamps, matrices, and posters to create their own works and integrate them into the show. Ribeiro describes the exhibition as one of networks, intersecting and expanding collectives. Admission is free, with visiting hours from Tuesday to Saturday, 10 AM to 9 PM, and Sundays and holidays, 10 AM to 6 PM.
