World Tea Expo 2011 Showcases Specialty Tea Revolution in Las Vegas

The ninth annual World Tea Expo was held in Las Vegas over a span of three days, showcasing approximately 300 booths from tea producers, importers, bakers, and equipment suppliers. President George Jage remarked on the evolving tea culture in the U.S., noting that American imports now rival those of the UK. Attendees included retailers and tea enthusiasts who participated in tastings and seminars, such as one led by David Walker addressing manufacturing flaws in tea. Joy Njuguna from Royal Tea of Kenya presented 'Grandpa's Anytime Tea,' while Jane Pettigrew emphasized Kenya's significance in the UK's tea bag market. James Norwood Pratt hosted tastings of Darjeeling teas, and Bill Waddington advocated for Pu-erh as a distinct dark tea category. The event also highlighted teas from Vietnam, Hawaii, and Nepal.
