Work Forward Awards to Premiere at Barcelona Disseny Hub in 2026

The first edition of the Work Forward Awards, organized by Bernadí, will take place on May 13, 2026, at the Barcelona Disseny Hub. The event focuses on innovation in workspace design and is structured around three blocks: welcome and introduction, a conversation between jury presidents Albert Blanch and Francesc Rifé, and the award ceremony for three main categories—Architecture, Interiorism, and Product. The institutional closing will be delivered by Maria Buhigas San José, chief architect of the Barcelona City Council. An exhibition of selected projects will be on display, part of a traveling route that started at Palo Alto Barcelona and will conclude at Bernadí Hub in June. Ten schools and universities from Barcelona participated, with finalists including projects from BAU, EINA, ELISAVA, ESDI, ETSAB, IAAC, IED, LA SALLE, LCI, and UIC. A scientific committee from The Next by Bernadí selected the proposals. Bernadí will also present a publication titled 'Work Forward Awards. Un premio como celebración', edited by Bernadí and Experimenta Libros with design by Morillas, documenting all projects and the company's 60-year trajectory. The awards are part of the Barcelona Capital Mundial de la Arquitectura 2026 program and coincide with Bernadí's 61st anniversary.
