Witches Exhibition at Cattedrale Ex-Macello in Padua

An exhibition titled 'Stregherie' at the Cattedrale Ex-Macello in Padua explores the historical and cultural phenomenon of witches, from ancient Greece to contemporary art. The show, curated by Maria Palladino, is divided into sections tracing the origins of prejudice, the Inquisition's atrocities, and the rehabilitation of the witch figure. Highlights include rare prints from the Invernizzi Collection in Como, an immersive simulation of the 1539 trial of Ursolina 'la rossa' and her daughter Agnese in Modena, and works by Jean Veber, Salvador Dalì, Franco Rasma, Leonor Fini, and Elisa Seitzinger. The exhibition runs until February 1, 2026.
