Wink Optometrist in Melbourne Designed as an Imaginary World by Brud Studia
Mitchell Zurek and Andy Kelly, at the helm of Brud Studia, have finalized the interior design for Wink, an optometry practice located in Elwood, Melbourne, Australia. This marks Brud Studia's inaugural retail endeavor. Drawing inspiration from the nursery rhyme 'There Was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe,' the design incorporates a character residing within a glasses case nestled in a Simone Rocha egg clutch. Influences include Milanese apartments, 1970s New York, and the essence of Australian suburbia. A kitchen has been integrated in place of a traditional retail counter to encourage social interaction. The interiors showcase stainless steel, vibrant block colors, timber joinery, and mirrors, aiming to alleviate the intimidation often associated with optical stores.
