Wingårdhs slides glass restaurant under Foster + Partners-designed bridge in Stockholm

architecture-design · 2026-05-13

A Swedish architecture firm called Wingårdhs has launched a unique restaurant named Slussporten, nestled under Stockholm's Guldbron (Goldbridge). This glass structure, which covers 855 square meters, stands on its own and isn’t directly attached to the bridge, designed by Foster + Partners as part of the Slussen redevelopment. Architects Gert Wingårdh and Maria Normann describe it as “a glass room beneath a concrete bridge,” balancing strength and delicacy. Managed by the Nobis hospitality group, the venue boasts water views. Interior designers Helena Toresson and Sara Helder crafted distinct spaces like the Gold Bar, Food Bar, and Dining Room, using materials that reflect the nearby waterfront. The main bar features textured metal, while an Italian glass mosaic wall adds a graffiti-inspired touch.
