Willem Dafoe and Laphroaig Collaborate on 14-Year-Old Sherry Cask Scotch

Willem Dafoe has teamed up with Laphroaig to introduce a 14-year-old single malt scotch whisky, finished in Oloroso sherry casks. Named Willem by Willem, this whisky boasts a 53.7% ABV and undergoes aging in bourbon barrels prior to a nine-month finish in sherry casks. Dafoe became a Friend of Laphroaig last fall and contributed to the Unphorgettable campaign, with senior whisky maker Sarah Dowling noting his involvement in selecting the whisky. Tasting notes include dried fruit, ripe cherry, flamed orange peel, vanilla custard, cinnamon, cardamom, and black pepper. Set for release in June, this collaboration merges a distinguished actor known for roles in The Last Temptation of Christ, Platoon, and The Lighthouse with a renowned Islay distillery. It has received favorable reviews, scoring between 90-94 on Robb Report's scale.
