Will Bruno's Comic-Landscape Exhibition Opens at galleryHOMELAND in Portland

The exhibition titled "Comics With Still Life: Finding The Inevitable Place" by Bruno commenced on September 5, 2014, at galleryHOMELAND in Portland, Oregon, and will continue until October 17. This showcase includes pieces created during his residency at the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, utilizing various media such as flashe, oil, watercolor, acrylic, ink, graphite, and mixed materials. The display features comic narratives with "The Oogleheads," along with landscapes, interiors, portraits, and still lifes. Curated by Reese Kruse, it highlights different formats, including the 42-by-44 inch piece "Beach Comber With Still Life" (2014). Bruno's artistic influences, such as Fairfield Porter, and personal experiences, including a bear encounter in Banff, shape his work, culminating in the seven purple watercolor series titled "Windowsill" (2014).
